design inspiration for a cosy home

Here are some design ideas I found useful lately for decorating and maybe re-arranging furniture around the house.

From figuring out a color scheme you like to choosing your finishes, here's some help remodelling your space!

Here's something designers and architects don't usually agree on, but -in most cases- I like using perfect symmetry for home-design.

The reason for this is our more and more hectic lives: I find soothing when I come home and find a perfectly organized, symmetric and functional environment.

I also like buying things in pairs: 2 coffee chairs, 2 identical bookcases, etc. It just makes things a lot more simple and easy to navigate through.

Here's a slightly more modern approach to the same space. A reading chair and ottoman lends a casual, relaxed feeling to the space. A tall floor lamp always looks elegant. The colour scheme is my new design crush: everything from sky blue, teal to lime looks so fresh for this spring!

Restyled/reworked living space

Here are some shots of my studio flat taken and edited by one of my many talented friends, Simona, on a Saturday afternoon. 

The space has been slightly restyled, leaving the small messy bits untouched for a dab of natural environment exposure.

Exhibition stand proposal

I've made this design proposal a while ago! It's an exhibition stand for an airline company spreading on two levels.

Illustration was made by my dear friend slash illustrator extraordinaire, Alice after my design and It's a cool trick to use when showing the concept-3d model evolution process.

Jewellery for your home

I had this idea for a while: re-using jewellery for interior design pieces. 

zzzHere, I imagined a hoop earring for a drawer knob. The minimal backdrop -unvarnished wood and leather- makes a nice contrast. Kept a clean shape, added skinny long metal legs for a precious silhouette.

So, if you ever lost an earring, you now know what you can use the other one for!

Iele painting exhibition

Yesterday I had the pleasure to attend a lovely painting exhibition held by my dear friend Alice.

It is called 'Iele', and if you hurry up you can still admire her art pieces at Calea Victoriei 143!

 

It's quite hard to pick a favourite, isn't it?

 I love this bright pink and blue one, in the words of the artist herself 'it slaps you in the face and tells you to wake up!'

 The kittens from the patterns crawl up into real living things, which is a leit-motif in the exhibition.

 ...same idea with butterflies...

I loove this detail, it's a piece of art in itself.
